Here in California, we get some good reminders about water conservation. There are many good sources of information on the internet about how to practice water conservation, and we’d encourage you to check those out. However, here are a couple of brief reminders that could be helpful to you.
Limit your flushing! Some older toilets use a lot of water with every flush – even up to 7 gallons of water per flush. If you’re not in a position to replace your older toilet with a more modern model that is much more efficient with water, consider flushing less.
Take brief showers. Some estimates say that the average person in the United States uses around 90 gallons of water per day. Most of that is spent in the shower. During this pandemic, it could be that that number is vastly different, but that’s another story… In any case, you might consider taking a shorter shower, or leaving the water off while you soap up.
