Now that we’re facing a pandemic, ordinary activities that we used to not spend a second thought on require extra planning and creativity because they may present a risk to our health. One example of this is shopping; just getting groceries these days can require a lot of extra work. Here are some things you may want to consider:

Before you go, decide if you really need to go right now. Perhaps a delivery service may be available, or you may be able to go during a less crowded time.

While you’re at the store, you may want to wear a mask, and use disinfecting wipes on carts, basket handles, and card readers.

When you get home, you may decide to wipe down everything you bought before you put things away. For produce, you might rinse everything with clean water. Once things are put away, you could disinfect the surfaces that held these items as you were cleaning them.
