If you’re a relatively new homeowner, you should know that there are plenty of things you can do to keep your home in good shape that may not require you to hire a professional. One of those things that is pretty straightforward is replacing a faucet. Of course, replacing an entire sink is quite a bit more work, so don’t confuse the two.
If you’re looking to replace your faucet on your own, be sure to consult the instructions provided with your new faucet before proceeding. In most cases, though, the process of replacing a faucet usually includes the same basic steps. First, make sure that the water supply to your existing faucet is completely disabled. Then, remove the old faucet either by hand or with a wrench. In some cases, you may also need to replace a drain. Then, install the new faucet, install the new drain, and reconnect the water supply lines. That’s the basic process – fairly simple, right?
