This year has brought a series of traumatic events that can lead even the most steel-willed person to do desperate things. We’d like to talk about how homeowners can avoid one of those desperate things – burglary.

In this post, our suggestions boil down to common sense. Walk around your property with the mindset of someone who is trying to find a way inside. How would they do it? Do any of your doors have glass in them, or are they solid wood or metal? Is there any security system (or at least signs of a security system) to watch out for? Does it look like the house is lived in? Is there a particularly dark area around the house where someone could hide or break in without anyone noticing at a glance?

Asking yourself questions like these can be very helpful. They can guide you toward taking practical steps that will keep your property and your family safe.
